Next James Bond odds slashed on rising star gaining on Aaron Taylor-Johnson | Films | Entertainment
It’s been over three years since Daniel Craig exploded out of the James Bond film franchise with No Time to Die.
As 007 fans eagerly await an official announcement, there’s been a shake-up in the odds with Coral bookmakers.
Masters of the Air and Fantastic Beasts star Callum Turner has had his chances slashed from 6-1 to 2-1.
Coral’s John Hill said: “We continue to see strong support for Callum Turner, suggesting it may not be a done deal just yet with Aaron Taylor-Johnson.”
The 34-year-old Turner, who is also dating Dua Lipa, faces competition in the odds from other next Bond favourites, including Tom Hardy, who channels 007 in his latest Venom movie.
As it stands, Taylor-Johnson leads the pack with odds of 4-5 following reports he had been cast as the next Bond earlier this year.
Behind Turner on 2-1 are James Norton on 7-2, Paul Mescal on 6-1 and both Damson Idris and Regé-Jean Page on 8-1.
Meanwhile, Theo James is on 9-1, followed by Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy on 10-1 and Jack Lowden on 12-1.
