Friends fan’s ‘incredible’ bathroom looks just like Monica’s apartment
A Friends fan has left people amazed with an “absolutely incredible” home makeover that’s left her bathroom looking just like Monica Geller’s apartment.
The iconic sitcom ran from September 1994 until May 2004, spawning 236 episodes and a cast of six characters – the titular “friends” – that deeply resonated with millions of viewers all around the world. Courteney Cox’s neurotic, clean-freak Monica lived in a New York City apartment that provided the backdrop for many beloved episodes.
The apartment – number 20 – was an integral part of the show, with at least a scene from every instalment of the show set there. Famously painted purple, it was kitted out with cosy, shabby chic furniture and kitsch touches that added charm and character, no matter how obsessive Monica was about keeping it spick and span.
One Friends fan relished the opportunity to transform her bathroom into an homage to the enduringly successful sitcom, complete with purple walls and a bright blue sink unit, reminiscent of Monica’s kitchen.
Fan Victoria Walker shared a string of images of her successful home makeover in the popular public Facebook group, F.R.I.E.N.D.S is HOME, which boasts 446K members. In the caption accompanying her post, she simply penned: “I finally finished re-doing my bathroom in Friends theme. It’s my new happy place!”
The bathroom includes details like mock exposed brick – another famous feature of Monica’s kitchen – as well as a replica of the French poster Monica has displayed above her television. The rug in front of the bathroom sink is shaped like the famous orange sofa the friends sit on in their regular coffee shop haunt, Central Perk.
Victoria even added a number 20 to the exterior of her bathroom door in an extra nod to Monica’s home, while the inside is complete with the famous yellow swirled photo frame around a faux peep hole, identical to the way Monica’s door looks in the show.
Fellow Friends fans were keen to share their thoughts in the comments section. One impressed Facebook user said: “ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE”.
Another shared: “I love this so much I would definitely put up a Friends shower curtain. This looks amazing”, while a third commented: “Oh my gosh this is my fav!!! I love every little detail about this! Even the number on the door! Where did you get the couch rug? I haven’t seen that one”.
Someone else said: “I’m obsessed” while another Friends fan declared: “This is perfection!” And another added: “This is without a doubt my favorite bathroom I have ever seen”.
