Prevent hair loss with natural item under £10 that ‘promotes thickness’

Hair loss is uncomfortable and gruelling at any age, but there are myriad ways to tackle it.

That said, some are more effective than others, and they are not always the cheapest ones that fail to deliver results.

Experts recommend using natural alternatives to combat hair thinning instead of expensive shampoos or haircare products.

Jojoba oil is easy to find in the UK. It is available in most health and beauty retailers and more widely online.

This natural remedy is often infused into conditioners and other hair products to shield against dryness, breakage, and split ends, and for good reason, too.

Jojoba oil is celebrated for its ability to moisturise the scalp and address dandruff, a common ailment.

Some specialists suggest this natural oil can effectively prevent hair loss and promote new, healthy tresses.

It’s an essential oil extracted from the jojoba plant Simmondsia chinensis seeds, which is native to the Sonoran Desert in North America. The secret behind jojoba oil’s effectiveness for hair loss lies in its capacity to hydrate hair follicles, thus preventing loss due to dry strands.

According to hairstylist Sally-Kate Duboux, jojoba oil’s richness is in its vitamin and mineral complex, which includes vitamin C, B vitamins, vitamin E, copper, and zinc.

Sally-Kate praised it as a “natural cheerleader for strengthening our locks, promoting thickness and regrowth, and aiding in preventing hair loss.”

Experts at the Belgravia Centre, one of Europe’s largest and most renowned hair loss treatment centres, noted that while there are no specific scientific studies to prove jojoba oil as a hair-growth remedy, it has clear benefits.

They pointed out that the oil’s fatty acid content, specifically oleic acid, may help protect against signs of environmental damage and skin and hair ageing.

The hair loss experts assured: “For those wanting to add hair oils or scalp oils into their general hair routine, we consider jojoba oil to be a safe choice in the majority of cases, with known benefits whether applied to the lengths and strands as a moisturiser or directly to the scalp to help reduce any inflammation.”

As for where to buy jojoba oil, there are plenty of affordable options. Superdrug sells Nature Spell Jojoba Oil For Hair and Skin at £7.99, and Holland and Barrett offer Oleus Jojoba Oil for £5.

Amazon ranks Pure World Natural Jojoba Oil (£11.95) as a bestseller, but there are plenty of alternatives available to browse.
